Primary Education Completion (PEC) and equivalent Ebtedayee exams for fifth graders in schools and madrasas will continue from Nov 18 to Nov 26.

Primary and Mass Education Ministry came up with the decision today at a meeting of National Steering Committee 2018, chaired by Primary and Mass Education Minister Mostafizur Rahman.

The exams will start from November 18 and will continue to November 26, says a press release issued in this regard. Exams would start at 10:30am this year instead of 11:00am and end at 1:00pm.

Tests on different subjects in PEC exams have been scheduled as follows: English on Nov 18, Bangla on Nov 19, Bangladesh Affairs and Introduction of World Affairs on Nov 20, Science on Nov 22, Math on Nov 25 and Religious Studies and Moral Teaching on Nov 26.

The schedule for Ebtedayee final exams is: English on Nov 18, Bangla on Nov 19, Bangladesh Affairs and Introduction of World Affairs on Nov 20, Arabic on Nov 22, Math on Nov 25 and Quran, Tazbid, Aqayid and Fiqha on Nov 26.

Students with special need will be given 30 minutes extra time during tests which earlier used to be 20 minutes, the primary and mass education ministry’s spokesman Rabindranath Roy told the media.

This year, the examination will be evaluated at the Upazila level, the press release says.
