The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has arrested eight suspected militants of the banned terror outfit “Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh’s (JMB) Radical Youth Group” from the capital’s Kalabagan, Bashundhara, and Mohammadpur areas in Dhaka.

The members of RAB-1 and 2 detained them in separate operations on Sunday night, said Md Mizanur Rahman, assistant director of RAB.

The arrestees are Md Arafat Ajam, 30, of Bandarban, Rashed Alom alias Badhon, 28, of Tangail; Mir Afzal Ali, 37, of Satkhira; Mahadi Hasan, 23, of Laxmipur; Radiuzzaman Hawladar Anik, 27, of Madaripur; Jalal Uddin Shovon, 28, of Munshiganj and Zarir Taisir, 26, of Noakhali.

Books of extremist propaganda, laptop and cell-phone were seized from their possession.
